The Tara stairwell build started as a straightforward request: replace a dated, cramped staircase with something that felt open and intentional. TAZWORX Construction reworked the entire stairwell, widening the treads, adjusting the layout, and introducing custom railings that became the visual centerpiece of the home. Every element, from the newel posts to the balusters, was hand-built and fitted on-site to match the home’s existing woodwork and finishes. We paid close attention to structural details as well as appearance, ensuring the new staircase met code while feeling like it had always belonged in the space.
Natural light from a nearby window now plays across the wood grain, something the original staircase’s cramped layout had blocked entirely. What was once an overlooked passageway between floors is now one of the most talked-about features in the home, proof that even functional spaces deserve real design attention.
